The idea of going to this food truck came from the fact that, every time I passed by the Quad, I would see two food trucks: “Le Anh” and “The Real Le Anh.” This seemingly odd form of competition made me to curious to see if the food that they served was all that different, so I thought that I create a “two-part series” for the column. This week, I decided to try “The Real Le Anh” (somehow more appealing because of the word real), and then next week I will try something similar from “Le Anh” to see how these food trucks really differ. The menu for “The Real Le Anh” was, as you can see, extremely diverse; everything had a very similar price and so many things sounded absolutely delicious. However, my heart almost skipped a beat when I saw “snow peas.” More than being an enormous fan of snow peas, I find it difficult to find snow peas at many Chinese restaurants, so I jumped on the occasion and ordered the snow pea beef. I asked for her to add whatever spicy sauce they had to the beef, in hopes of some miraculous discovery. The food was made very quickly, and once I got back to my room, I saw that the portion was very big for what I paid.

The beef also came with a large serving of white rice (brown rice optional for 50 cents extra). The food was actually very good; the beef was tender and the sauce it was cooked in was not overly salty. The snow peas were very sweet (something I love), but the only disappointment was the spicy sauce. To be frank, it wasn’t spicy at all, and there seemed to actually be very little of the spicy sauce in the first place. Overall, the meal was very satisfying and filling for the $4.50 I paid. However, I’m curious to see how “Le Anh” will match up! Until next week!
