We Try Federal Donuts’ Fried Chicken Sandwich

The newest addition to the Federal Donuts menu certainly aims to please.

The fried chicken sandwich that Philadelphians fell in love with this summer at Spruce Street Harbor Park is now here to stay. This succulent sandwich is a perfect bite of americana for only $6.75. The crispy buttermilk fried chicken, melted american cheese, and crinkle cut dill pickles are nestled inside a soft classic potato roll.

But what really sets this sandwich apart is the surprisingly spicy “rooster sauce” dripping off the sides that adds depth and a unique flavor to the traditional dish.

This is the ideal lunch for when you feel like indulging- but don’t forget dessert! You should have a little room left, and while you might want a second sandwich after trying your first, I would recommend going for either the Grapefruit Brûlée or Chocolate Eclair Donut (or both, like I did). These are just two of the several insanely inventive and delicious treats Federal Donuts has become famous for.

All in all, I left satisfied and happy that the calories weren’t listed on the menu!
