This is the Apple Pie You’ve Been Dreaming Of

It’s fall, people! And you know what that means: apples, and lots of ‘em.
Here at Penn Appétit we can hardly contain ourselves when we walk by the farmer’s market on 36th and Walnut each Wednesday. And who can blame us? With so many varieties to choose from, it’s almost impossible not to walk away with a bagful.
But good news: we never have any problems using up all of our irresponsible apple purchases. Especially not when pie is on our mind.

Because one thing’s for sure: once the nights start to get cooler, nothing takes the chill off of a long walk back home from Van Pelt quite like a piping hot slice of apple pie.
With less than an hour of effort, you can have a homemade apple pie in your oven and a kitchen filled with the sticky sweet aroma of baked apples and fragrant cinnamon. Just make sure to let the pie cool down for a few minutes before you slice through that spectacular crust.
This apple pie from Bon Appétit is our go-to recipe. It’s simple, well-written, and pretty much guaranteed to leave you standing at your kitchen counter gaping at a flaky, buttery, apple-filled masterpiece.
After all that midterm studying, you deserve it. TREAT YO’SELF!
