Fishtown Crawl

a photo essay

Fishtown is a hike. We get it. So why not consolidate trips, hop on the Market-Frankfort Line, and make a whole day of it?

That’s what I did this fall with Justine (Photo Director) and Katherine Ku (Culinary Director).

First stop: a hearty breakfast at Suraya! Pastries upon pastries and of course a couple rose-topped lattes.

Some of our favorites: kouign amann, ma’amoul, crullers, etc.

From there, we camped out at Reanimator for coffee and mellow work vibes.

A cute iced chai, and even cuter merch.

Somehow, despite having just eaten a couple hours before, we couldn’t resist a stop into Good Spoon for a sampling of their seasonal soups, lemon-poppy seed pastry, and Brazilian pon de queijo. The “secret garden” outside was an oasis, truly.

A quick stop into Jinxed (right next to La Colombe) for some quirky antiques and vintage wares.

Now, for the main attraction: Nunu Happy Hour. Awesome prices on drinks, not to mention hand rolls and skewers galore. (Don’t worry, there were vegetarian options too.)

Last stop: Weckerly’s ice cream! Will definitely be back soon to catch the next batch of seasonal flavors.
