Zama Tanaka and Chef Chris Paulikas announce the start of Ramen Sundays at CoZara. CoZara is located at 3200 Chestnut Street at Drexel University. Sunday hours will run from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and the menu will feature several ramen-centric special options, in addition to their regular Sunday menu.

• Egg ramen noodles mixed with egg and ramen soup, pan-fried to form the bun
• 8 ounces of ground beef mixed with scallion and usukuchi (light soy sauce)
• Gruyere cheese
• Sunny side up egg with togarashi and spicy Japanese mustard/mayo
• Pickled cucumber, arugula and red onion
• Ginger ketchup

Mazemen-bacon: This noodle is traditionally served as the Staff Meal at Japanese ramen restaurants and became known as the “secret menu item” at the restaurants. CoZara is the first to serve Mazemen in Philadelphia.

CoZara is a 140-seat restaurant that exposes Philadelphia to a true Japanese izakaya. Two floors offer a wide variety of dining options including a 10-seat open kitchen, nine seat bar as well as the geisha room, an upstairs private room. Designed by Boxwood Architects, the restaurant has a chic relaxed atmosphere with varying textures of gray, blonde wooden tables and black iron chairs. Red accents and hand painted images of Shoguns and Geisha serve as the only adornment. Modern red silk moire drum lighting fixtures cast a dim glow. Ceilings are exposed industrial black ductwork. A 30 seat outdoor terrace will be available in the summer months.

CoZara, means small plates, features Japanese food served tapas style, including dumplings, soba, yakitori and other Japanese favorites. Zama Tanaka serves as the Executive Chef, with Chris Chris Paulikas, seving as Chef de Cuisine.
