This holiday season, culinary pioneers Di Bruno Bros. will celebrate with a mind-blowing array of giveaways, events and surprises.  On Saturday, December 6, all five locations will host a festive Holiday Cheese Crawl, complete with free food and drink samples – a perfect way to get to know their delicious seasonal offerings and gather great ideas for holiday entertaining direct from their cheesemongers.  As a final celebration of their 75th Anniversary, Di Bruno Bros. will be giving away $1,939 in Prizes (reflecting their first year in business) throughout the holiday season, including a $1,000 shopping spree, for customers who share their holiday traditions on social media or enter online at DiBruno.com/Traditions.

“The winter months, and especially the holiday season, are usually a time when we reflect on favorite childhood memories and warm family traditions. At Di Bruno Bros., we look forward to seeing the excitement on our customers’ faces as they peruse the aisles looking for that one item that might trigger nostalgia,” says Vice President of Culinary Pioneering, Emilio Mignucci.  “This year’s Holiday Cheese Crawl is just another way we can say thank you and hopefully remind our guests that they are a part of our family, too.”

Holiday Cheese Crawl

The Holiday Cheese Crawl will take place on Saturday, December 6 from 12 noon until 4 p.m.  Each location (Rittenhouse Square, Washington Square West at The Franklin Market, at The Market & Shops at the Comcast Center, at the original store along 9th Street in Philadelphia’s Italian Market, and in nearby Ardmore, PA) will feature different free food and drink pairings, and guests who visit will receive a “Di Bruno Bros. Cheese Crawl Map” that will be stamped by each location they visit.  Cheese lovers are encouraged to visit any two Di Bruno Bros. locations, plus The Franklin (3 total); those who do will earn an exclusively printed, complimentary tote bag with product samples, the Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese book and other Di Bruno Bros. swag. All crawls must end at The Franklin in order to receive the swag bag.

Founders Danny and Joe Di Bruno began as purveyors of imported products, often sourced from family and friends in Italy, and quickly developed a reputation for the quality of their specialty foods and Old World hospitality.  It’s this very commitment to people, products and service that has enabled Di Bruno Bros. to remain a thriving pillar in the Philadelphia food community all these years.

Di Bruno Bros. became an anchor on 9th Street, assisting in the transformation of the unassuming stretch of street into what is known today as the historic Italian Market.  Today, Di Bruno Bros. employs more than 350 proud team members.  The company has evolved into a community-driven enterprise with five specialty food retail locations, plus commissary/catering and import and e-commerce divisions.  Di Bruno Bros. goods are also newly available on Amazon Fresh to locations in Center City Philadelphia. They have been featured on national TV, including Travel Channel’s The Layover, hosted by chef and food personality Anthony Bourdain.  Recently, author Tenaya Darlington partnered with the family to write Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese (Running Press, 2013) a comprehensive catalog of the shop’s best-known and loved cheeses and accompanying recipes from the family themselves.
