Dorm-et Food: Black Tahini Truffle Hummus

Hi guys! Dorm-et Food is back again with this simple original Tofu Black Tahini Truffle Hummus recipe! This recipe puts an unexpected twist on the beloved student late-night snack: hummus. I used black tahini (sesame paste) instead of white tahini to add an extremely nutty and rich layer of flavor you wouldn’t normally get in the traditional Mediterranean recipe. Another surprising ingredient is the tofu, which gives this dish a delicious creaminess, perfect for people trying to avoid using too much olive oil and fats in their hummus. Try out this asian twist on hummus and you might just be able to rival Dzengoff!

Ingredients:

1.5 cups cooked chickpeas (unsalted)
2 tbsp. black tahini (black sesame paste)
3/4 cup cubed firm tofu
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
1 tsp. truffle zest (I used the Sabatino Tartufi brand I bought at the Italian market)
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Water
Roasted chickpeas and more cayenne to serve
