Thai Coconut Organic Ancient Grain Fusions

The most recent award-winners of the company’s offerings–earning the distinguished Progressive Grocer Award for Most Innovative Product–are the Organic Ancient Grain Fusions. These heat-and-serve, nutrient-dense dishes are composed of vibrant blends of organic grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables and spices.

Take the Thai Coconut, for instance: the five grain fusion (Basmati Rice, Jasmine Rice, Quinoa, Long Grain White Rice, and French Green Lentils) features sweetness from coconut milk and refreshing lemongrass, and spiciness from exotic massaman curry paste incorporating chili, turmeric, and ginger. It was super easy to prepare: either a 60-second nuke in the microwave or a quick flash in the pan over medium heat.

The mixture can be used as a main meal or side dish, and can take you around the world with other flavor profiles including Mediterranean Feta, Moroccan Bazaar, Southwestern, Cuban Mojo, and Tuscan Garlic and Tomato.

The Toasted Coconut Chips were a pleasant surprise, particularly for the creative flavor blends (think rich Italian Espresso, sweet Vietnamese Cinnamon Swirl, pungent Ginger Masala Chai, and fragrant Mexican Spiced Cacao). The chips have a crisp crunch thanks to caramelization of the drupe during production. Particularly memorable is the Maple Madagascar Vanilla with its sweet kisses of organic maple syrup and vanilla.

Made in Nature features recipes on its website to spark inspiration (a sultry double baked sweet potato and toasted coconut mash looks particularly divine). These products and more are available nationwide at retailers including Safeway, Costco, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Wegman’s, and REI.
