It’s quick, it’s nutritious, it’s filling, and you can make it any way you want…

Overnight oats is the perfect grab-and-go breakfast for anyone who would rather get that extra ten minutes of sleep after hitting the snooze button than wake up to wearily stand in front of their stove top to whip up a batch of eggs or pancakes. It takes absolutely no time or effort at all to prepare in the morning and only takes the stirring of a spoon to make the night before!

All you need to do is simply mix together some rolled oats with any milk, yogurt and toppings of your choice, and let it soak up all the moisture overnight to transform into a cold and refreshing breakfast that is a perfect treat to start of your morning and keep you satisfied throughout the busy summer day!

Steps
Step 1: Start by making the base recipe for the oats. Add half a cup each of rolled oats (preferably the regular or old-fashioned rolled oats, rather than instant oats or steel cut oats), vanilla Greek yogurt and milk to a bowl. You can use absolutely any type of milk you prefer, from 2% to soy to almond milk. Experimentation can lead to delicious results!
Step 2: Stir in any toppings you desire into the base. Some good topping combinations are listed below, but the choices are endless: peaches, clementines, dark chocolate chunks, agave nectar…
Step 3: Mix everything together, cover, and refrigerate overnight for the perfect summer breakfast.

Below are some combinations you could try out:

Chunky Monkey
To the base recipe, add half a sliced banana, a teaspoon of chunky peanut butter, a drizzle of honey, and a spoonful of chia seeds.

Bursting Berries
Add half a cup of berries (whole blueberries and cut strawberries), and a sprinkle of toasted slivered almonds, brown sugar and/or granola the morning after.

Mocha Morning
Stir in a teaspoon of espresso powder and cocoa powder into the mixture for a rich, dark base and add in two crushed Oreos before you eat it in the morning!

Piña Colada
For the base recipe, replace the vanilla yogurt with pineapple flavored Greek yogurt and stir in a few chunks of pineapple. Top with a spoonful of toasted coconut for a tropical and chewy twist!

Choco-orange
Add a few chunks of dark chocolate and the zest of a quarter on an orange for a tangy and delectable treat.

Peaches and cream
Cut up the peaches into small cubes and mix it into the yogurt for a sweet and tangy taste. Add a splash of vanilla extract to complement the fruitiness.
