Matcha Chocolate Bark

Recipe by Sharon Dong
Whether you’re a white, milk, or dark chocolate lover, this quick matcha bark recipe is perfect for satisfying your sugar cravings! All you need is a flat pan, your favorite chocolate of choice, and some matcha powder. I buy my matcha powder from Amazon.com, but you can also find it at local grocery stores. Different brands will make matcha powders that look and taste different, so make sure you give your ingredients a taste beforehand. The two recipe variations are both very forgiving and customizable, so feel free to skip the measuring and get creative with other toppings!

Ingredients

Matcha White Chocolate Bark
  • matcha powder 1 tablespoon
  • white chocolate 6 ounces
  • coconut flakes (optional)
  • freeze dried raspberries or strawberries (optional)
  • Dark Chocolate Matcha Drizzle Bark
  • matcha powder 1 teaspoon
  • white chocolate 2 ounces
  • dark chocolate 6 ounces
  • coconut flakes (optional)
  • freeze dried raspberries or strawberries (optional)
  • Directions

For the matcha white chocolate bark:

    1. Line a 8” x 8” tray with parchment paper.
    2. Microwave the white chocolate in 15 second intervals, stirring in between. Continue this until chocolate is smooth and melted.
    3. If you want to save some white chocolate for decorating, you may spoon a few tablespoons out. Sift the matcha powder into the rest of the melted white chocolate and stir well.
    4. Evenly spread the chocolate over the lined pan. Sprinkle freeze dried raspberries/strawberries and coconut flakes on top. You may also choose to mix these into the chocolate or dot/drizzle white chocolate on top and swirl using a toothpick.
    5. Let chocolate cool and harden at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.

For the dark chocolate matcha drizzle bark:

    1. Line a 8 x 8” tray with parchment paper.
    2. Microwave the white chocolate in 15 second intervals, stirring in between. Continue this until chocolate is smooth and melted. Melt the dark chocolate separately as well.
    3. Sift the matcha powder into the melted white chocolate and stir well.
    4. Evenly spread the dark chocolate over the lined pan. Dot/drizzle matcha white chocolate on top and swirl using a toothpick. Sprinkle freeze dried raspberries/strawberries and coconut flakes on top.
    5. Let chocolate cool and harden at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.
