Thanksgiving in One Bite

The Stuffin' Cranberry
The Stuffin’ Cranberry

Walking into Reading Terminal Market is the best physical definition of sensory overload; colors, smells, and sounds radiate from all corners, each beckoning you to explore them. Reading Terminal is the perfect destination for anyone who even remotely enjoys food and it is sure to have something that will satisfy everyone, with options ranging from Amish doughnuts at Beiler’s to classic south Philly roast pork at DiNic’s to Thai cuisine at the Little Thai Market. The wealth of choices definitely presents an embarrassment of riches for anyone who struggles with choosing food, like myself.

During fall break, I ate at Reading Terminal for the very first time. I had visited the market previously, but spent my time wandering around, wide-eyed, not being able to decide on a single food item. I was determined to finally try something during this visit.

After taking in the sights for a good fifteen minutes, my friend and I decided to try The Original Turkey. This decision was not made lightly. Before this trip, I had carefully yelped Reading Terminal, searched Google for the best foods to eat in Reading, and consulted Reading veterans. I ordered a sandwich called “Stuffin’ Cranberry”, which I can best describe as “Thanksgiving dinner in one bite”. It was a sandwich composed of freshly baked bread, thick white meat turkey slices, vibrantly colored cranberry sauce, and flavorful, carb-licious stuffing. At first bite, I immediately became nostalgic for Thanksgiving, arguably one of the best days of the year, from a foodie’s perspective.

Not only was this sandwich physically filling, it was also mentally satisfying because it brought back happy memories with its familiar flavors. The “Stuffin’ Cranberry” is definitely something I would eat again (once I get through my Reading Terminal Eating Bucket List). To anyone visiting Reading Terminal, this sandwich is definite must-try.
