Truck Treks: Le Anh

As Part II of my short two part series, I traveled to Le Anh to determine the better food truck: The Real Le Anh or Le Anh? Le Anh is located near the Lower Quad Gate, right by its twin truck. In terms of pricing, both trucks were virtually identical. I decided to order something slightly different from Le Anh: sweet and sour chicken. The meal comes with either steamed rice or fried rice, and I decided to go for the fried rice to try something a bit different. I ended up paying $5 for the chicken along with a can of ginger ale (always recommended with Chinese food for its cleansing effect).

I must say, the meal looked very good when I opened it, but I could see that the sauce had not even coated all the pieces of chicken, which was slightly disappointing. In terms of flavor, the chicken was spot on; the sauce was a good mixture of tangy and sweet, but without feeling overwhelmingly sugary. On the other hand, the fried pieces were a bit more disappointing; the texture was fairly dry and the fry batter was chewy. The combination of pineapple and onion in the dish definitely added to the flavor, but the meal was definitely hindered by the quality of the products themselves.

Overall, being that prices for both trucks are virtually the same, I would definitely recommend going for The Real Le Anh because of the obviously high quality ingredients and great tasting food.
