No party guest will be able to resist a delectable cheese board. A cheese, fruit and nut display makes for the perfect appetizer as it is easy to prepare for a host to prepare and even easier for guests to nibble on. If possible, assemble your cheese platter around half an hour to an hour before your guests arrive, as the cheese should be room temperature in order to maximize flavor.

A successful cheese plate is primarily dependent on presentation. Surround your cheeses with a combination of nuts, fresh and dried fruit, dark chocolate, jam, and honey for an enticing display.

To appeal to all guests, include a variety of different cheeses. Incorporate soft cheeses (brie or mozzarella), blue cheeses (Maytag or gorgonzola) and hard cheeses (gouda or parmesan). Even your lactose-intolerant party guests will be able to enjoy some hard cheeses. Just remember to include a separate cheese knife for each different cheese.

A fabulous cheese platter is the perfect way to set the tone for a fabulous evening!
