Me ‘N’ Mo’s Grand Opening Party

We sent two bloggers to the Me ‘N’ Mo- Meatballs and More opening party. Here are their takes on the event:

Carson Miller: Do you love meatballs? Have you ever thought about how many varieties there may be? If you want to enjoy a delicious variety of meatballs you should head to Me ‘N’ Mo– Meatballs & More. There you can enjoy a variety of 7 different meatballs with your choice of 7 different sauces. They range from a traditional beef meatball, to a chicken meatball with sage and shallots stuffed with fontina, a spicy pork meatball, or one of their specialties (and my personal favorite), the buffalo chicken.

While meatballs are the star of the show at Me N Mo, the sides are just as good, featuring homemade pastas, vegetables and salads. One salad was dynamite with fresh pear and a simple vinaigrette dressing that tied everything together. We finish the meal off right with our choice of tiramisú, crème brulèe or panna cotta.

Tina Kartika: The concept of restaurants focusing on a specific type of dish is not new–after all, many of us have been to ramen shops and pizza joints–but a restaurant that serves meatballs as the star of the menu is pretty novel.  Me ‘N’ Mo, a restaurant located in the South Street District, offers a variety of meatballs and sauces to compliment them.

The night of the Grand Opening, Me ‘N’ Mo served spicy pork, beef, buffalo chicken, veggie, pork and shrimp, as well as chicken and sage meatballs. The options for sauces were more limited: only buffalo sauce and pork and shrimp sauce. There were also focaccia, gnocchi, and salad to round out the meal. The bar served complimentary beer, wine, and soda, as well as two varieties of sangria.

Me ‘N’ Mo was particularly crowded that night, but coupled with the nicely decorated interior, the restaurant had a vibrant atmosphere despite the cold winter night. There were pink hearts lining the walls to herald the approach of Valentine’s day. With its dim lighting and rustic decor, Me ‘N’ Mo certainly imparted a romantic feeling.
