Notice the “little baby” in the corner? 😉

Little Baby’s Ice Cream brought small batch scoops of sweetness to West Philly this weekend with the opening of their “Cedar Park Embassy.” Convenient to Dock Street Brewery, Mariposa Food Co-op, and other Baltimore Avenue businesses, Little Baby’s will surely be a dessert hotspot for those dining in the neighborhood.

The friendly staff (and ever-so-patient! Thanks for letting us sample so many of your delicious flavors– pizza was quite the novelty. Also, so sad you ran out of coffee toffee while we were there!) prepares ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes for guests at the back counter. The eclectic menu of flavors and various ways you can enjoy them (cup, cone, sandwich, shake) resides on the wall above.

The red velvet Spodee chocolate swirl, sandwiched between an almond fennel cookie and coconut cookie, was creamy and luscious, with rich chunks of red velvet cake distributed throughout and the subtle taste of locally-made Spodee apparent.

The peanut butter maple tarragon, tucked in between snickerdoodle and sugar cookies, was a sweet and savory concoction. The herby tarragon complemented the other nutty sweet flavors well.

The entire time we were there, the line stretched out the door as ice cream lovers flocked to the new Cedar Park embassy for a scoop or two of Little Baby’s.
