Penn Food Summit
Announcing the Student Food Summit at the University of Pennsylvania

How does food shape our identities? Penn Appétit Magazine is proud to explore this question through the Penn Food Summit, a weekend-long event dedicated to bringing together food enthusiasts. This year’s summit, to be held February 7th, 2015, aims to sift apart and fit together food and identity.
Over the course of the weekend, participants will convene at the University of Pennsylvania to connect with others who are passionate about food and its effects on society.

Students will explore the theme, Fitting Together Food and Identity, by participating in short writing workshops, hearing from a panel of exciting speakers, competing in a scavenger hunt, dining at popular Philadelphia restaurants, and attending key-note speaker presentations.
The panel event, to be held Saturday, February 7th at 10:30 am, will feature a range of speakers, from chefs to publicists to writers. The keynote event, starting at 1:00pm and continuing until 4:00pm, will feature Ellen Yin, owner of award winning restaurants Fork and High Street on Market, and Chef Kevin Sbraga, owner of The Fat Ham, Sbraga, and Juniper Commons.

Participants will also enjoy delicious receptions throughout the day, with fully catered breakfast and lunch spreads.

We encourage everyone interested in food and the role it plays in our lives to join the conversation by taking part in this innovative event.
