Philadelphia’s Oyster House, a restaurant consistently dedicated to “pouring innovative, exciting cocktails,” recently released their new Cocktail Menu. The menu boasts a variety of fresh cocktails, punches, and oyster shooters, many of which are paired with tasty menu items. Owner Sam Mink describes the new menu as “yet another step forward in the evolution of our beverage program, keeping our offerings fresh and making sure that our guests can always count on us for great drinks, whether they’re stopping in for happy hour or indulging in a decadent multi-course meal.”

Several of the new cocktails, such as Capetown and Sunday Silence Julep, are made with Rittenhouse rye in a nod to Philadelphia. Other cocktails include: Old Miami, a flavorful cocktail made with Correlajo reposado tequila, Meletti amaro, and cherry heering, and Blonde Redhead, a summery drink of Absolut Citron, strawberry rhubarb shrub and cucumber.

The menu also includes an abundance of refreshing punches—such as the popular Mother’s Ruin Punch, made with gin, fresh grapefruit, cinnamon tea-infused vermouth and sprakling wine and the tart Country Thyme Punch, composed of gin, lemon, Aperol and thyme syrup.

For a quick but satisfying drink, a collection of oyster shooters are available, from the smooth Londoner, consisting of cucumber, lemon, and dill gin, to the adventurous Chihuahua, made with hot pepper and cilantro vodka with tomato juice. For the non-drinker among us, the bar also has the Bloody Shame, made with house bloody Caesar mix and without alcohol.

Receiving enthusiastic reviews since its debut in May 2009, the Oyster House has never failed to impress its guests. It is open for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5pm-10pm and Friday through Saturday until 11pm. The restaurant also serves lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30am-2:30pm. For those who enjoy “dunch”, the restaurant has a limited menu between lunch and dinner. A Saturday brunch is available from 11:30am-2:30pm.
