What: Lyric Fest is a Philadelphia vocal arts organization committed to bringing people together through song. Not incidentally, Lyric Fest sees food as augmenting the community experience and the mood of the concert with a reception following the concert. Rumor has it there may be a cocktail inspired by Love with a Twist.

This Valentine’s Day recital is a wry look at love from denials and disaster to the humor of lthe common condition of our desires. The program covers a range of styles from art songs, folk songs, standards, show tunes and opera.

Who: Guest artists Barbara Shirvis, Stephen Powell and Richard Troxell (yes, that Richard Troxell who voiced Jay Leno in an operatic duet with Jimmy Fallon) join Suzanne DuPlantis, Randi Marrazzo with Harold Evans at the piano.

When/Where: Saturday Feb. 15, 7:30 pm at Lenape Valley Church, Doylestown | Sunday Feb. 16, 3 pm at Academy of Vocal Arts (1920 Spruce Street)

Cost: Students with ID can purchase tickets at the door for $5
